Terry Moore’s Abstract Studio, which publishes his creator-owned titles including Strangers In Paradise and Rachel Rising, has signed an exclusive worldwide distribution deal with Diamond Book Distributors. The deal comes as Moore is preparing to re-release Strangers in Paradise as a new four-volume edition, with the first volume due out in June 2023 and the second in October.

Moore had previously signed with DBD in 2003 (see “Abstract Studio Goes with Diamond for Booktrade”). “Abstract Studio is a creator owned business and they saw the potential of graphic novels in bookstores and libraries back in the early 2000s,” Rich Johnson, Vice President Sales and Business Development at DBD, told ICv2. “At that time these markets were unfortunately not ready for a book like Strangers In Paradise. As a result, Abstract decided to focus their efforts on the direct market. Now that bookstores and libraries are eager for these kinds of stories, Abstract is focusing their efforts again towards booksellers and librarians. It's perfect timing for Abstract Studio as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of Strangers In Paradise.

The first volume of the new edition of Strangers In Paradise will be published by Abstract Studio on June 20, 2023, as a 480-page paperback with an MSRP of $26.95. The complete series will be collected in four volumes.
