Terry Moore's Abstract Studios has selected Diamond Book Distributors as the exclusive U.S. and non-exclusive worldwide distributor of English-language editions of its Strangers in Paradise series to bookstore, library, warehouse, and mass merchandising markets. This agreement does not effect the distribution of Abstract Studios books to the comic market, where the company will remain non-exclusive.
Strangers in Paradise is a realistic, slice-of-life comic series that has proven popular with both male and female readers. The very model of the 'independent' comic, Strangers in Paradise is Terry Moore's handiwork and his alone. He writes, draws, and inks every page of the series. Although the Abstract Studios line is not as big in terms of the number of volumes as some of the other lines that Diamond is distributing, it has tremendous potential in the bookstore market because of its literate, humorous, and often poignant storylines about the longtime relationships of three devoted friends.
