Spring is here, and showbiz news is sprouting up. Time for another round-up!

Oscar winners Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All at Once) will direct an episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, according to The Hollywood ReporterSkeleton Crew is forthcoming Disney+ series set in the New Republic era that stars Jude Law.  The series, executive produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni of The Mandalorian fame (see "'The Mandalorian' Directors"), revolves around kids who are lost in the galaxy looking to find a way home.

The Pokemon Company has released a full-length trailer for its new anime series, which will be titled Pokemon Horizons: The Series.  The company has been dribbling out information on the new series, including the news that it will feature new characters, including Friede, a Pokemon Professor, his partner Captain Pikachu, along with Liko and Roy (see "Pokemon Intros Captain Pikachu").  It will presumably be released on Netflix in the U.S., with a drop date to be announced.

The WWE's executive chairman Vince McMahon paid back the $17.4 million spent by the WWE board to investigate the alleged hush money payments he made as CEO, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The payment was disclosed in an SEC filing made on March 23, 2023, and will quell the board investigation for now.  Recently, McMahon returned to the WWE board after retiring due to these allegations (see "Vinnie Mac Returns").

Netflix released a trailer for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (see below).  This special feature reunites the remaining original Power Rangers' cast after 30 years to battle Rita Repulsa.  The feature arrives on April 19, 2023.

Amazon Prime's Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series added new cast for Season 2, according to Variety.  New cast members include Rome and Game of Thrones veteran Ciaran Hinds, Tanya Moodie, and Rory Kinnear.  The Rings of Power Season 2 began shooting in October 2022 (see "'Rings of Power' S2 Begins Shooting").

Netflix has tapped Jon Spaihts to pen the live-action adaptation of the Gears of War video game, according to Variety.  Spaihts was one of the Oscar-nominated co-writers on Dune (see "'Dune' Wins Six Oscars") and he wrote the 2016 Doctor Strange movie.
