Announced last summer (see “Cubicle 7 to Launch New ‘Warhammer 40,000’ RPG”), Imperium Maledictum pits small clandestine groups dispatched by their “Patron” to investigate threats to the security of the Imperium of Man. The game is set in the Macharian Sector, a hotbed of intrigue and heresy, following the Great Rift. In the game, the players create their group’s Patron through a collaborative system, helping to craft the tenor of the campaign.
Imperium Maledictum is built on a modified version of the d100 system Cubicle 7 uses for its Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game, originally developed for the Dark Heresy game by Black Industries. In addition the ruleset, the Core Rulebook will feature details about the Macharian Sector, its history, geography, and the imperial factions operating within its borders. The book will have an MSRP of $59.99. A deluxe Collector’s Edition version will be available for $119.99, sporting an embossed faux-leather cover and packaged in a magnetically sealed box.Click Gallery below for a peek inside the book.
A Gamemaster’s Screen will also be offered with an MSRP of $29.99. The three-panel screen will have handy charts to ease gameplay as well as a 32-page “Macharian Miscellania” booklet with tables and charts to help gamemasters with world-building and a trio of short adventures to kick-start their campaign. Also in the works from Cubicle 7 is a post-apocalyptic fantasy RPG, planned for later this year (see “Cubicle 7 Announces Post-Apocalypse RPG Setting ‘Broken Wave’”).
