Nightcrawler will escape to New York and take on the role of Spider-Man in a new limited series that is part of Marvel’s Fall of X event.  Uncanny Spider-Man, by writer Si Spurrier and artist Lee Garbett, will take Kurt Wagner, a.k.a. Nightcrawler, to New York City, where he will don a re-designed Spidey suit, find a new romantic interest, fight some classic Spider-Man villains, battle the forces of ORCHIS, and investigate a mystery about his mother.  The five-issue limited series will launch on September 6, 2023, and the first issue will feature a cover by Tony Daniel.

“What we've got here is a spectacular new beginning - which, yes, is code for ‘perfect jumping-on point’ - which leans hard into heroic, joyful, street-level action,” Spurrier said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “Writing Kurt has always been an exercise in heart.  He was the first to feel the cracks in Krakoa... and the first to try and do something about it.  Unfailingly loyal to his people, his friends and his responsibilities, he's gone through a lot. What's been missing for him is the joy.  The freedom.  The thrill. And that's where we find him now.”
