At the San Diego Comic Con International, Geneon (formerly Pioneer Animation) showed off the colorful metal tin that will hold all 26 episodes of the Stellvia anime series (in individual thin-pack boxes).  The metallic packaging makes perfect sense for this 'hard' sci-fi anime series set 200 years after radiation from a nearby supernova nearly wiped out life on earth.  When scientists detect another wave of radiation heading for the earth, they devise an elaborate scheme utilizing six space stations to protect the earth using a complex shield-like energy field.

The Stellvia Limited Edition Artbox ships to retailers on September 21 with an MSRP of $39.98  (the standard edition is $24.98).
