Comics that featured Wilson’s action art included Star Trek, Magnus Robot Fighter, Classics Illustrated, Space Family Robinson, The Twilight Zone, Doctor Solar, and Turok, Son of Stone. Much of the artwork included in The Art of George Wilson will be scanned from originals. Also, the book will contain examples of the book covers he created, including a lengthy run on Avon’s The Phantom.
Hermes Press previously published some of Wilson’s art in their The Phantom: The Complete Series: The Gold Key Years (see “Hermes to Publish Silver Age ‘Phantom’ Comics”) and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea: The Complete Series (see “Hermes to Reprint Irwin Allen Comics”).
The Art of George Wilson is due in February 2024. The 288-page hardcover is written by Anthony Taylor and is cover-priced at $75.
