SDCC News. Titans: Beast World, written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Ivan Reis, will begin in November 2023 and run through January 2024. Part of the "Dawn of DC," it will connect with Titans and Nightwing, also written by Taylor (see "DC to Launch New ‘Titans’ Series").
The Necrostar, an intergalactic threat similar to Starro, but intended to be "more frightening," is the earth-threatening villain. Starfire discovers that the Necrostar can be beaten by Starro, requiring Beast Boy to take that form.
Becoming that powerful pits him against his teammates in the Titans while Amanda Waller uses the threat to advance her anti-metahuman crusade, teaming up with Lex Luthor. Meanwhile, millions of people, including superheroes, are turned into beasts.
The Beast World crossover starts with Tales of the Titans #4, on sale October 24 (see "New DC Series Will Explore Backstories of the Titans"). Written by Andrew Constant with art by Brandt & Stein, it’s a spotlight on Beast Boy after the events of Dark Crisis, coping with a lack of confidence that affects his superpowers.
