DC will launch a new Titans series, by writer Tom Taylor and artist Nicola Scott, in May as part of its "Dawn of DC" initiative. The former Teen Titans aren’t teens any more, and in this series they step into the void left by the Justice League. The first issue will be released on May 16, 2023, with a cover by Nicola Scott, variants by Jim Lee and Jen Bartel, a 1:25 variant by Dan Mora, a 1:50 variant by Simone di Meo, and a 1:100 foil variant by Scott.

The “Dawn of DC” program was announced in November (see “DC Introduces ‘Dawn of DC’”), with storylines that flow out of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths and DC Universe: Lazarus Planet. Here’s a look at the creative teams and covers for the other new series that are launching in May.

Shazam! #1, by Mark Waid and Dan Mora, is slated for March 2 release with a main cover by Mora and variant covers by Chris Samnee and John Timms, plus a 1:25 variant by Evan “Doc” Shaner, a 1:50 variant by Ariel Colon, a 1:100 spot gloss pulp variant cover by Mora, and a spot foil cover by Mike Deodato.

Green Lantern #1 featuring Hal Jordan was originally slated to be written by Mariko Tamaki, but the new creative team is writer Jeremy Adams and artist Xermanico, with a backup John Stewart story by writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Montos. The first issue has an on-sale date of May 9 and will have a main cover by Xermanico, variant covers by Lucio Parrillo and Ivan Reis, a 1:25 variant by Daniel Sampere, a 1:50 variant by Ariel Colon, a 1:100 variant by Xermanico, and a 5th-color variant by Pete Woods.

Cyborg #1 has Victor Stone returning to Detroit in a series written by Morgan Hampton with art by Tom Raney. The first issue goes on sale on May 16 with a man cover by Edwin Galmon, variants by Tom Raney and Jorge Corona, a 1:25 variant by Nikolas Draper-Ivey, and a 1:50 design variant by Corona.

DC announced the other May “Dawn of DC” debuts, including Batman: The Brave and the Bold (see “All New ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ to Debut in May”) and three series by Asian American creators (see “Three New DC Series”), last week.
