Rebellion has hired Steve Morris, the owner of the comics criticism site Shelfdust and a former reporter for The Beat, as its marketing manager for 2000AD and its graphic novels. Morris will work with 2000AD Brand Manager Michael Molcher on marketing and publicity and will be responsible for managing marketing and advertising for new comics and trades. He will also be the primary press contact for the media and will work to increase awareness of Rebellion’s comics as well as expanding the company’s presence in the UK and elsewhere.
Morris comes to the job with a both a marketing background and a deep knowledge of comics, having run the Patreon-supported Shelfdust since 2017 as well as writing for other comics sites.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Morris expressed his pleasure at being able to "cross through The Forbidden Door and move from comics criticism into comics marketing, working alongside the (apparently robotic?) teams at both 2000 AD and The Treasury of British Comics to increase global levels of Thrill-Power even further beyond their recommended limits."
