CoolStuffInc.com is phasing out its board game and RPG selections in both its online and six brick-and-mortar stores as the result of a strategic decision to emphasize TCGs, the company announced. Board games and RPGs are being discounted at up to 70% off in the company’s online store, with many titles already out of stock. The company, formed in 2002, has been a significant player in both of the categories it’s exiting.
Although no longer in the board game and RPG categories at retail, the company continues to service those categories as a consolidator through its recently formed Quartermaster Direct division (see "Quartermaster Adds Consolidation Services"), and as a logistics company for crowd-funded games through its Quartermaster Logistics division.
Quartermaster Direct announced that it has added Portal Games products to its offerings earlier this month.
