Dynamite Entertainment has announced a licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to publish comic books and graphic novels featuring such well-known cartoon properties as ThunderCats, The Flintstones, The Powerpuff Girls, Space Ghost, Jonny Quest, and We Bare Bears. They have also licensed The Wizard of Oz, with more teased to come.
The first title released under this license will be ThunderCats, written by Declan Shalvey (Alien, Deadpool vs. Old Man Logan) and illustrated by Drew Moss (Gargoyles: Dark Ages, Vampirella/Red Sonja). That comic title will launch in February 2024 with an origin story approach. The two covers announced are by Shalvey and Lucio Parrillo.
With this announcement, Dynamite now holds substantial licenses for new material from both DC Comics parent company Warner Bros. Discovery and Marvel Comics parent Disney (see "Dynamite Announces Two New Disney Titles").
