Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT) is writing If You Find This, I’m Already Dead, illustrated by Dan McDaid (Sea Dogs), colored by Bill Crabtree, and lettered by Jim Campbell. The first of three issues is due in comic shops on February 14, 2024, from Dark Horse Comics and Kindt’s imprint Flux House Books. The magazine-sized issues, cover priced at $7.99, will include behind-the-scenes additional content in addition to the story.
The science fiction premise is about a reporter sent to a pocket universe with a squad of Marines. When the soldiers are killed, she has to survive the local power struggles in a world and a language she doesn’t know or understand.
The first issue has a variant cover by Brian Hurtt. Future variant cover artists for the series include Sumeyye Kesgin and Alice Darrow. Kindt listed Heavy Metal, Jack Kirby, Moebius, and Richard Corben as influences on If You Find This, I’m Already Dead.
