Garima Sharma, head of merchandise, tabletop and licensing at Skybound Entertainment, has been elected to the GAMA Board of Directors in a special election.

Sharma has been in the games industry for over 7 years, and has experience in games publishing, development and distribution. She has been her in role at Skybound for more than four years, and prior to that, Sharma was the VP of Product & Strategy at Studio71. She fills the publisher's board seat once occupied by former GAMA President Stephan Brissaud (see "GAMA Board").

"I came to the tabletop industry as a young, Indian female immigrant and despite the labels that I was experiencing elsewhere, I found a lot of helpful faces and friends willing to introduce me to the ins and outs of the industry," said Sharma. "Seven years later, I continue to do the same in my role as an entrepreneur and executive."

As a new board member, Sharma looks to help foster inclusion and diversity within the games industry by mentoring and guiding female talent. She will also lend her business expertise to the GAMA board to help creators, designers and marketers along on their paths in the games industry.
