Oni Press has announced a hardcover collection of diary comics and sketches by the French creator Boulet (Giles Roussel), who gained a worldwide following after he began posting his comics online in 2004, first in French and later in English. Boulet’s Notes: Back in Time is a selection of his strips from 2004-2007 that offer a wry outlook on dating, pop culture, and city life. The hardcover book will be released on June 11, 2024.

“Boulet’s improvisational, imaginative, and insanely creative comic strips have been a key part of the world of webcomics since he started posting them online way back in the early 2000s,” said translator and editor François Vigneault in a statement accompanying the announcement. “This new collection, featuring a curated and newly-translated selection of his work from the early years, is truly a ticket back in time to the start of the webcomics era!”

In addition to his webcomics, Boulet is the artist for Bea Wolf, written by Zach Weinersmith and published by First Second (see “New Graphic Novels”) and Dungeon Zenith, co-created with Lewis Trondheim and Joann Sfar and published by NBM (see “NBM to Publish Graphic Novel Set in Ukrainian Famine”). Eleven volumes of his webcomics have been published in French.
