Bryce Gold, who announced that he’d left his role as Head of Comics at Kickstarter on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this month, is now back with his former comiXology bosses David Steinberger and Chip Mosher at their startup company DSTLRY, the company announced.  He will have a “Head” title at DSTLRY as well, in an undisclosed role.  His hiring was revealed along with five others by DSTLRY today.

Gold had been at Kickstarter just since May, when he joined the company after leaving comiXology as Head of Content, a role he took on when Mosher left the company in 2022 (see “Kickstarter Taps Gold to Lead Comics”).

The DSTLRY co-founders also re-united with James Jackson, employee #13 at comiXology, who was hired as Vice President of Engineering.  Jackson also led development teams at Freestar and Hearst.

Other recent hires include:

Rolando Garcia as Lead Frontend Engineer.  He previously held roles at Marvel.com and in the Marvel Unlimited team, as well as Elysium Health, ScrollMotion, and Amplify.

Bada Kim, who previously held roles at Zendesk, CB Insights, and 1stDibs, as Frontend Developer.

Sade Paige, who developed social media strategy at Steve Madden and was a product development manager at Alex Apparel Group, as Social Media Lead with an emphasis on video production.

Joseph Skinner, who had deep experience in workflows and digital product management from his time at Enthusiast Gaming, Progyny and Digital Remedy, as Lead CMS Developer.

The DSTLRY co-founders shared some thoughts on the hires. “When we announced DSTLRY last spring, we established aggressive goals for our publishing, merchandise, and digital operations and have been blown away by the reception at the releases so far,” DSTLRY co-founders David Steinberger and Chip Mosher said in a joint statement accompanying the announcement. “To continue to meet and exceed those expectations, we’ve hired some of the most innovative and impressive minds in comics and tech to make those dreams a continual reality.”
