Shipping on Secret Lair products, beyond the first few drops, involved a certain of patience from Magic fans. For the most part, drops arrived within a three-month time frame, but there were some drops, like Heads I Win, Tails You Lose, that were shipped over a year after preorder (see "'Magic: The Gathering' 'From Cute to Brute' Sale"). WotC has decided to make an effort in 2024 to expedite shipping and reduce wait times by shifting Secret Lair from a print-to-demand model to a limited print run model for most of their future drops.

Most drops will be pre-printed, although WotC still may do some Secret Lair sets as print-on-demand with a ordering window. This shift means that some of their future drops might sell out prior to their ending date, but orders should arrive at customers' doorsteps faster.
