Marvel Comics will release an omnibus collection of CrossGen's Mystic comics, with two covers, the company announced. The 1,152-page hardcover volume will include Mystic #1-43, CrossGen Chronicles #5, and material from CrossgGen Chronicles #1. It tells the story of a professional party girl on a planet rife with sorcery who is granted the Sigil and empowered with new abilities.
The 2000 series by the short-lived publisher was written by Ron Marz, Tony Bedard, and Barbara Kesel, with art by Brandon Peterson, Steve McNiven, Kevin Sharpe, Fabrizio Fiorentino, Al Rio, Aaron Lopresti, Paul Ryan, Paul Pelletier, George Perez, and Claudio Castellini.
Mystic Omnibus will ship with two covers, both at $125, streeting on August 14, 2024. The regular cover is by Brandon Peterson, the Direct Market exclusive cover will bey Aaron Lopresti.
CrossGen created an ambitious comics universe in 2000, but it lasted for only four years; the company sold its assets to Marvel parent Disney in 2004 (see "Disney Publishing Acquires CrossGen Assets"). Marvel began releasing collections of Crossgen material last year, with a Sigil omnibus (see "Marvel To Omnibize Crossgen’s ‘Sigil’").
