Wizards of the Coast updated details on Magic: The Gathering - Outlaws of Thunder Junction, the next Premier booster set, which will hit stores on April 19, 2024.
Several details about the set were outlined at MagicCon Chicago at the Wizards of the Coast's Preview Panel on Friday February 23, 2024 (see "'Outlaws of Thunder Junction'"), such as some of the card treatments and the hot cards in the set. Recently, they added a few new nuggets of information about card treatments. In addition to Wanted Posters, Breaking News, and Opened Vault treatments, they have also revealed that there will be Western-themed landscapes on basic lands, textured foil treatments for 15 mythic rare Breaking News cards, and the usual extended-art and borderless treatments on cards. Additionally, the Opened Vault cards will feature raised foil treatments.
The SKUs for this set will consist of Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Prerelease Packs, four Commander Decks, and a Bundle. The main set will have a total of 81 commons, 100 uncommons, 60 rares, and 20 mythic rares. It will also have 65 Breaking News cards: 20 uncommons, 30 rares, and 15 mythic rares. Play Boosters will have one Breaking News card in them. There will also be 30 The Big Score mythic rare cards, which will also be on The List for this set. Cards exclusive to Collector Boosters are Textured Foil Borderless Breaking News cards, Extended-Art cards, Opened Vault cards, and Raised Foil Opened Vault cards.
