Czech Games Edition will release Little Alchemists, a streamlined version of the 2014 CGE title, designed for younger players and families, in Q3 2024.
In Little Alchemists, two to four players gather ingredients and brew and sell potions, based on experimentation and ingredient deduction. A free smartphone app can be used to scan ingredients to craft unique potion combinations. Players learn and master new skills as they play through seven chapters that unlock through multiple playthroughs. Each chapter adds new mechanics and complexity, introducing Little Alchemists players to the play elements of Alchemists.
The game box includes game board, 4 screens with shelves for scanning ingredients, 4 (double layered) markup triangles, potion markup tokens, 36 ingredient tiles, 4 customer tiles, coin tokens, 4 plastic flasks in player colors, rulebook, and 6 boxes with surprise content that expand the game.
The game plays in 15-30 minutes, and is for ages 7 and up. It’s designed by Matus Kotry, with art by David Cochard and Stepan Drastak.
The 2014 version of Alchemists made the ICV2 Top 10 Hobby Channel Board Games chart for Spring 2015 (see "Top Board Games – Spring 2015").
