Earlier this year, DC re-released two middle-grade graphic novels, Primer and Batman and Robin and Howard, as three-issue miniseries. (see “DC to Re-Release Two Graphic Novels”). With Primer: Clashing Colors, they are following the more traditional sequence and serializing the story first before collecting it into a trade.
With Trade to Follow

DC has announced Primer: Clashing Colors, a three-issue middle-grade series that will launch in July 2024 and will be collected into a trade in November. The series is a followup to Primer, which DC originally released as a graphic novel in 2020 and then re-released as three issues in 2024. Primer: Clashing Colors, by Jennifer Muro and Thomas Krajewski, follows the attempts of newly minted teen superhero Primer to join the Teen Titans after that group arrives in town on the tail of Deathstroke; unfortunately, regular-kid stuff like parents and homework keeps getting in the way. The first two issues will be released in July and August, respectively, and each will be 64 pages and priced at $4.99. The 160-page trade paperback, rated for ages 8-12, is set for release on November 5, 2024, with an MSRP of $12.99.
