Cryptozoic Entertainment will release Conan the Barbarian Trading Cards, with decades of comic art from Marvel Comics and Dark Horse Comics, sketch cards, and more, in Q4 2024, the company announced. The set will be produced with a limited production run, sold in five-card booster packs, 24-pack displays, and 12-box cases.
The Base Set of 72 cards features art drawn from Marvel Comics and Dark Horse Comics. Four Chase Sets are planned: Sharpened Steel, with nine cards that come together to form a Conan image on foil substrate; Conquering Covers, nine cards with covers from Conan comics on foil substrate; Behind the Scenes, with cards depicting preliminary sketches, unused images, and art changes requested by the Comics Code Authority; and Crimson Noir, nine cards with Conan in battle, printed in black with red accents.
The set also includes Red Foil Variants, numbered to 29, and Black Foil Variants, numbered to 1, of the Base and Chase Sets. Autograph, 1:1 Sketch, and Printing Plates are also included, at 1:48, 1:19, and 1:120 pack rates, respectively. Overall, collectors can expect roughly two premium hits per box.
