DC Comics' new comic series tied to Warner Bros.' fighting video game MultiVersus builds on the May 28 relaunch of the game. The video game, which features DC and other Warner Bros. characters, was originally released in beta version in 2022 to positive response, with 20 million players by Fall 2022. Its popularity dropped as the beta period dragged on, and it was eventually taken offline in mid-2023 in preparation for a relaunch this year. The relaunch has had some initial positive reaction, with over 110,000 concurrent players on Steam the first day, according to PCGamer.
The six-issue MultiVersus: Collision Detection comic series, by Bryan Q. Miller and Jon Sommariva, will launch on September 18, starring the DC trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, along with Bugs Bunny, a star child, and a witch from other Warners properties.
The A cover is by Dan Mora, with card stock variant covers featuring art by Mikel Janin and Riley Mossmo, plus one with video game key art. Jon Sommariva will contribute a 1:25 incentive variant, along with a 1:50 variant by an artist to be named later.
