ICv2 checked out the Bandai's booth at Gen Con 2024 to see what was hot and new on the TCG front.
Bandai's biggest release for 2024, and perhaps one of the bigger TCG releases in general, will be Union Arena TCG English Edition. This TCG was announced back in December 2023 (see "'Union Arena TCG' English Edition"), and is Bandai's catch-all TCG product for manga and anime IPs. Much like what UVS and Bushiroad do with their various products, Union Arena TCG is also coming strong with mega-anime IPs like Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Hunter X Hunter. They've also recently announced a Code Geass set and a Demon Slayer set for next year (see "'Union Arena TCG' 'Demon Slayer' Booster Set").
Make no mistake, this TCG is going to make some waves with casual anime TCG collectors. Bandai Namco has access to dozens of popular Japanese IPs, and this may just be the beginning for this game.
