It's been another busy week in Hollywood, and more showbiz news has hit the wire. Time for a round-up!
DC Studios is working on a treatment for a Bane and Deathstroke movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. These two popular DC super villains are being tied together by James Gunn for the silver screen, and he has tapped Matthew Orton to begin development of a script. Bane appeared as the main villain in The Dark Night Rises in 2012.
The Chucky series has been cancelled at Syfy and USA Networks, according to Variety. The popular horror comedy, which expanded upon the lore of the killer doll from Child's Play film franchise (see "'Chucky'"), ended after three seasons on the air.
Marvel Studios released a new teaser trailer for Thunderbolts (see below). This movie, starring Florence Pugh and Lewis Pullman, is headed to theaters in May 2025 (see "Best in Shows -- 2025").
Netflix released an official trailer for Heartstopper Season 3 (see below). The new season picks up from the end of Season 2 (see "'Heartstopper' S2") where Nick and Charlie look to take their relationship to the next level, and face their biggest challenges yet. The series will begin streaming on October 3, 2024.
Crunchyroll announced that the English dub of the first episodes of the Dragon Ball DAIMA series will make its debut in select U.S. theaters on November 10, 11, and 12. The highly anticipated subtitled anime (see "'Dragon Ball Daima' Trailer") will begin streaming on Crunchyroll on October 11, 2024.
