Hollywood continues to scare up news heading into the tail end of the spooky season, and it's time for a round-up!

Deadpool 3 won't be making its May 3, 2024 release date, according to sources at Deadline.  The film is in a half-finished state, and even if the SAG-AFTRA strike ends soon (see "SAG-AFTRA Strike"), the time it would take assemble crew and restart production would push the completion of the movie past the original release date.

Amazon Prime Video announced that Gen V will be renewed for a second season, via the show's Twitter account.  The Boys spinoff first season launched on Prime streaming on September 29, 2023 (see "'Gen V'").

Gary Dauberman and James Wan's Atomic Monster will take on a Gargoyles live action series for Disney, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Dauberman will write the series as well as fill the roles of executive producer and showrunner.  Currently, Gargoyles comics are published under the Dynamite Entertainment banner (see "Dynamite Gets 'Gargoyles'").

The English voice cast for Miyazaki's last film, The Boy and the Heron, was recently announced, according to Variety.  The star-studded voice cast includes Christian Bale as Shoichi Maki; Dave Bautista as The Parakeet King; Gemma Chan as Natsuko; Willem Dafoe as Noble Pelican; Karen Fukuhara as Lady Himi; Mark Hamill as Granduncle; Robert Pattinson as The Gray Heron and Florence Pugh as Kiriko.  The movie opened in Japan on July 14, 2023 (see "Last Miyazaki Film Opens").

The rights to the Halloween horror franchise are headed to Miramax, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with plans for a new TV series for the IP, and perhaps, a linked TV-movie universe.  The Halloween IP has been active in the games industry lately, as Trick or Treat Studios recently published a new board game (see "'Halloween' Board Game").

Toei Animation released a teaser trailer for Dragon Ball Daima (see below).  This all-new series will hit in Fall 2024.  Also, Toei Animation and Crunchyroll recently teamed up to bring almost 1,000 English-dubbed One Piece episodes to Crunchyroll's platform (see "'One Piece' Dubs Arrive").
