Devir Games announced The White Castle: Matcha, a new board game expansion, which will head to retail at the end of October 2024.
The White Castle: Matcha expands the core game (see "'The White Castle'") by adding a new board and more actions. It features a new bridge with its own dice as well as new spaces where players can gain influence (the tea house) and resources (the pond overlook). The expansion also introduces geisha pieces as new clan members and the chasen, another resource. Additionally, this expansion adds an extra turn to the game, so that players can attempt to get the maximum number of influence points.
The game box comes with a central board extension, 1 green bridge, 5 green dice, 16 coins, 26 tiles, 4 personal boards, 20 geisha figures, and 39 cards. When combined with the core game, this expansion supports one to four players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. It will retail for $29.99.
