Classic YA Fantasy Tale to Be Published as Four Volumes

Abrams is adding to its newly minted graphic novel imprint Abrams Fanfare with a graphic adaptation of Tamora Pierce’s classic Song of the Lioness YA fantasy novels. The story, rated for ages 12-16, centers on a young woman, Alanna, who is determined to become a knight, in defiance of her society’s mores. Static: Season One writer Vita Ayala is handling the adaptation, and Sam Beck is the artist for the project. Abrams Fanfare will publish the first volume on May 13, 2025, as a paperback with an MSRP of $17.99 and a hardcover with an MSRP of $26.99.
