The first volume, which is in black and white, follows Bagge’s Gen X protagonist Buddy Bradley through a series of misadventures in grunge-era Seattle, while the second and third, which are in color, continue the story after Buddy and his girlfriend Lisa move to New Jersey. Bagge returned to the story in June for a four-issue series (see “More ‘Hate’ from Peter Bagge”) that will be published as a collected edition in July 2025.
