Devir has acquired Maldito Games, a Spanish publisher of advanced and expert level games, the companies announced. The Maldito catalog consists of over 300 games, Including localized editions of such titles as Terraforming Mars, Brass Birmingham, Wingspan, and Everdell. The acquisition brings Devir's total portfolio to over 600 games.
Devir will continue to sell games under both the Devir and Maldito Games imprints to target different market segments.
The acquisition will allow Devir to expand, particularly in the Latin American market, the company said. Barcelona-based Devir is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025 and expects 20% growth, after doubling between 2018 and 2023. It has the largest catalog of Iberian language games (Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese), and also publishes in Italian, and releases English-language titles through its U.S.
"Adding Maldito Games to the group reinforces our movement into the expert-level games territory," Devir CMO Quim Dorca said of the deal. "More than 300 titles unlocks the potential to impact points of sale, fans and consumers."
