Dark Horse Comics has announced an omnibus edition of Yasuhiro Nightow’s Blood Blockade Battlefront. The first omnibus volume will have a standard manga trim size and will include Vols. 1-3 of the original as well as the story “E-Den of the Master Fighters” from Vol. 4. The 672-page paperback will be released on July 15, 2025, with an MSRP of $29.99.
Dark Horse initially published the series as 10 single volumes from 2011-2018. The story of a young man with specially enhanced eyesight who fights monsters impinging on a future version of New York City was adapted into an anime, which is available on Crunchyroll.
Nightow is the creator of Trigun and Trigun Maximum, which were highly successful in both manga and anime forms. The first volume of Trigun sold out when it was first released in 2003 (see “Trigun Manga Sells Out in a Flash”), and Dark Horse’s hardcover Deluxe Edition was in the BookScan Top 20 for two months in fall 2023, debuting in third place on the chart (see “September 2024 Circana BookScan”).
