Asmodee has released a trading update on its sales and profitability in the holiday quarter in the run-up to its spinoff from Embracer Group early next month (see "Asmodee Spin-Off Dates Set"). Sales were up 11% in the October through December quarter, to $447 from $401 million in the year ago period million (all numbers converted from Euros at today’s exchange rate).
The 11% sales growth for Asmodee was an improvement over the 6% decline in the July-September quarter (see "Asmodee Parent Continues Losses").
Studio game releases were up by around 29% over the previous year’s releases in the quarter, driven by licensed games, while third party game releases were up around 5%.
Non-GAAP profitability measures are expected to show improving profits.
