Embracer has set the dates for its spin-off of Asmodee into a separate, publicly traded company for early February, the company announced. The spin-off was first announced nearly a year ago, as part of a break-up of Embracer into three companies (see "Embracer to Spin Off Asmodee"). On February 5 2025, Embracer shareholders will receive shares in Asmodee, and on February 7, shares in Asmodee will begin trading on Nasdaq Stockholm.
As planned Embracer contributed €400 million (around $417 million at today’s exchange rate) to Asmodee on January 24, flowing sloure of Embracer’s sale of Easybrain (see "Asmodee To Get $400+ Million"). Among other purposes, Asmodee plans to resume acquisitions.
Dates for the break-up of the remaining Embracer companies into two companies have not been announced; the new companies will be Coffee Stain & Friends and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends (which will include Dark Horse Comics).
