Pioneering distributor Phil Seuling (see "Phil Seuling: The Man Who Invented the Direct Market”), retailer and distributor Bill Schanes (see “ICv2 Interview: Bill Schanes of Pacific Comics”), and Steve Schanes, Bill’s brother and the co-founder of Pacific Comics, have all been chosen by the Eisner judges to be inducted into the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame in 2025.

This marks the first time that the Eisner Hall of Fame has recognized retailers and distributors; most of the inductees are creators, along with a handful of editors, publishers, and historians.

In another Hall of Fame first, curator Lucy Shelton Caswell, the founder and former curator of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum at The Ohio State University was also selected by the judges; she is the first curator to be so recognized.

The other inductees are Peter Arno, Gus Arriola, Steve Bissette, Wilhelm Busch, Philippe Druillet, Phoebe Gloeckner, Richard "Grass" Green, Rea Irvin, Jack Kamen, Joe Maneely, Shigeru Mizuki, Bob Oksner, Bob Powell, Joe Sacco, Ira Schnapp, Frank Stack, and Angelo Torres.

In addition to these 21 inductees, the judges will select 18 nominees, and voters will choose six of them for induction.

The judges for the Hall of Fame are William Foster, Michael T. Gilbert, Karen Green, Alonso Nuñez, Jim Thompson, and Maggie Thompson.

Seuling and distributor Bud Plant were first nominated in 2023 (see "Phil Seuling and Bud Plant Deserve to Be in the Eisner Hall of Fame").
