Wizards of the Coast revealed product line details for Magic: The Gathering - Marvel's Spider-Man, a new Standard-legal booster set, which will hit retail on September 26, 2025.
The new Marvel's Spider-Man set product line is a little bit different than some of the other IP-themed Magic sets. For one, there are no Commander Decks for this set. WotC has instead substituted Scene Boxes in for Commander Decks. Secondly, and most importantly, it carries over the hefty price increases per pack from the Final Fantasy set (see "'Magic: The Gathering: Final Fantasy'"). The Final Fantasy and Marvel's Spider-Man sets are both Standard-legal, which generally means that Magic's premier format is going to more expensive to play IRL in 2025. Finally, WotC will be issuing Welcome Decks for this set to FLGS as a way of promoting the set to new players.
The set features an array of fan favorite Spider-Man heroes and villains. The product line for this set is as follows.
Marvel's Spider-Man Collector Booster Packs and Displays. Marvel's Spider-Man Collector Booster Boxes come with 12 packs that have 15 Magic: The Gathering cards. The cards included are 5 cards of rarity Rare or higher, 4 uncommons, 5 commons, and a land card. Collector Packs have a total of 11 to 13 traditional foil cards and can contain the following cards with these collector numbers: SPM 1–193, 199–283; SPE 1–26; MAR 1–40. Packs will retail for $37.99.
Marvel's Spider-Man Play Booster Packs and Displays. Marvel's Spider-Man Play Boosters include 14 Magic: The Gathering cards and come 30 packs to a display. Each pack comes with 1-4 cards of rarity Rare or higher, 3-5 uncommons, 6-9 commons, and a land card. One card in the pack will be a traditional foil, and packs can contain the following cards with these collector numbers: SPM 1–231; MAR 1–40. Packs will retail for $6.99.
Marvel's Spider-Man Bundle. The Marvel's Spider-Man bundle contains 9 Play Boosters, 15 traditional foil basic lands, 15 non-foil basic lands, a bundle-exclusive foil alt-art card, a storage box, a Spindown life counter, and 2 reference cards. These bundles will ship in cases of 6 and will retail for $69.99
Marvel's Spider-Man Scene Box. Scene boxes come with three Marvel's Spider-Man Play Boosters. It also contains 6 traditional foil Scene Cards, 6 Art-Only Scene Cards, and a display easel for $41.99.
Marvel's Spider-Man Prerelease Pack. Marvel's Spider-Man Prerelease Packs are specifically for use in prerelease events. These packs come with 6 Marvel's Spider-Man Play Booster packs, a foil rare or mythic rare card with a year stamp, a deck box, and a spindown die.
