Hollywood and anime news has hit the wire, and it's time for another round-up.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment's A Minecraft Movie is projected to land north of $145 million for its three-day box office opening weekend, according to Deadline.  This total dethrones Super Mario Bros. and sets a new three-day box office record for a video game adaptation movie (see "'Super Mario Bros.' Sets Record").  In other box office news, Snow White has grossed about $78 million domestically through its third weekend (according to Box Office Mojo), far short of its original projections.  This box office bomb reportedly caused executives to pause their Tangled live action movie plans, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Disney has released an official trailer for Tron: Ares, due out October 10, 2025.  Advance interest is high, helped along by news that the score will be provided by Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails (see "’Tron: Ares’ Scored by NIN").

GKIDS Films, now owned by Toho Co., Ltd. (see "Toho Buys GKids"), released a Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye teaser trailer (see below).  This is Dan Da Dan's first theatrical released and the movie begins the "Evil Eye" arc for the anime series.  It will head to theaters on June 6, 2025 (see "Best in Shows -- 2025").
