Skybound's Transformers Compendium Set Kickstarter raised over $2 million in the first two days for the hardcovers collecting the 1980 series of Transformers comics originally published by Marvel Comics. The set includes eight volumes of between 1000 and 1,200 pages: two volumes each collecting the U.S. and U.K. runs, in Autobot or Decepticon editions. Each volume is bound in faux leather. Release is planned for December 2025.
The collector’s box features new art from current Transformers cover artist Daniel Warren Johnson.
The Kickstarter includes a $50 retailer tier, which entitles the retailer to order the books at wholesale discount on BackerKit. Orders will be fulfilled by Image Comics' exclusive direct market distributor, Lunar Distribution.
The Transformers Compendium Sets will be Kickstarter Exclusives. The total raised will be competition with Skybound's similar G.I. Joe collections, which raised $3.37 million on Kickstarter last year (see "Kickstarter Up Dramatically").
