Variety has reported that Michael Chabon, who won a Pulitzer for his novel of the early days of comics (The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay) and wrote The Escapist for Dark Horse, has been signed to write Snow and the Seven, a retelling of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with a Chinese fantasy/martial arts twist.
The first-time director will be Yuen Wo Ping, who choreographed the fight scenes in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Matrix.
