Rittenhouse Archives has announced the November release of Star Trek: The Original Series 40th Anniversary Trading Cards.  The all-new trading card collection will feature a stellar lineup of signature cards, including the first officially authorized cut signature cards of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry.  The Roddenberry 'Archive Cuts' were put together with the direct involvement of his estate, culled from personally signed checks bearing Roddenberry's signature.  Only 25 of the Roddenberry 'Archive Cuts' will be produced, making them the rarest of all officially licensed Star Trek cards ever produced.

The new series will also contain signature cards from more than 2 dozen actors who appeared in the original Star Trek series, including Leonard Nimoy, George Takei, Robert Walker, Kathy Hays, France Nuyen, David Soul, Joan Collins, Majel Barrett, Bobby Clark, and Mary Rice.  Rittenhouse is guaranteeing that every 40-card display box (MSRP $84.00) will contain 2 autograph cards.

The 110-card base set features images taken exclusively from the show's first season. Subsets include 'The Quotable Star Trek: Original Series' (18 cards), nine 'Captain Pike' cards featuring Jeffrey Hunter, six 'Faces of Vina' cards depicting Susan Oliver, eighteen 'Star Trek Portrait ' cards, eighteen '1967 Expansion' cards building on the original Leaf card set from 1967, and seven 'Delta Shield' cards with official uniform patches embedded in the cards.

The 5-card Star Trek: The Original Series 40th Anniversary Trading Card packs have a suggested retail price of $2.10.  Rittenhouse is also producing a custom binder (MSRP $39.99), which will include an exclusive autograph card signed by Walter Koenig (Chekov) with an image from the classic 'Mirror, Mirror' episode.
