World Fantasy Award winning author and acknowledged modern master of the horror novel Stephen King will appear as a Guest of Honor at the 2007 New York Comic Con, which will be held at the Javits Center from February 23rd to 25th.  King will join Marvel EIC Joe Quesada in a panel discussion of Marvel's comic book series based on King's The Dark Tower saga, which spans seven novels published over 25 years (see 'Marvel Announces Three Projects With Best-Selling Authors').

The Dark Tower panel discussion will be held on Saturday, February 24th.  Robin Furth, plotter of the comic series and author of Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Complete Concordance, will also participate.

Marvel plans to publish the first issue of its Dark Tower comic, which will be written by Peter David and illustrated by Jae Lee and Richard Isanove, on February 7th.  The Marvel comic book series expands on the narrative of King's Dark Tower novels by spinning new tales of the life of King's hero Roland Deschain as a young man.
