Tim Burton To Helm

In a story in Friday's New York Post , entertainment scribe Michael Reidel reported that Tim Burton was set to direct a Broadway musical version of the Batman saga. According to the Post story Burton is eager to reclaim the Batman franchise from the depths to which it sunk under the leaden touch of director Joel Schumacher ( Batman Forever, Batman and Robin ).

Wolfgang Petersen Will Direct

Variety reported today that Warner Bros. Pictures has tapped Wolfgang Petersen ( Das Boot , Air Force One ) to direct Batman vs. Superman , which Warners envisions as the studio's tentpole picture for the summer of 2004.

DC Comics has announced that the third and final issue of The Dark Knight Strikes Again will hit retail on July 31. R etailers can adjust their orders during a period beginning on June 19 and lasting until June 28.
