This week’s home entertainment offerings include one of 2017’s most interesting comic book adaptations, the second season of the wildly bizarre Preacher TV series, the full tenth season of the revived Doctor Who , one of this year’s best crime films, and the fourteenth installment of the Gundam mecha franchise.

This week’s releases include The Girl on the Train , Ouija: Origin of Evil , the second season of SyFy’s 12 Monkeys , the last hilarious gasp of the UK’s brilliant geek comedy The IT Crowd , and a wonderful French/Danish animated film, Long Way North.

Disney’s animated feature Moana topped the box office in a traditionally weak “in-between-the-holidays” weekend, dropping just 50% and earning $28.2 million. While some holdovers fared well, the weekend’s only new film, the horror thriller Incarnate was a bust, and the overall box office was down 3.2% from the same weekend last year.

We won’t know until the official figures are released tomorrow whether Jurassic World has topped the weekend box office for an impressive fourth weekend in a row, or if Pixar’s Inside Out has squeaked out its first victory in three weekends of release.

Universal’s megahit Jurassic World , which set a new opening weekend box office record in North America last week, narrowly missed topping The Avengers’ $103 million second weekend record with an estimated $102 million in its sophomore session.
