Hurricane Harvey shut down theaters in much of South Texas, and the much ballyhooed fight between boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and MMA fighter Conor McGregor helped lower Saturday attendance as Hollywood limped to the end of a disappointing summer season with the top 12 films earning the lowest amount registered since the weeks following the 9/11 attack.
