IDW Entertainment has partnered with IM Global Television to co-develop and co-produce the science fiction action drama LD50.

LD50 is set in a dystopian future in which a virus has decimated the male population. The series follows the interactions between a small group of healthy people and the infected women around them. IDW will publish comic books based on the television series for release in Summer 2017. LD50 creator Scott Dacko will executive produce and write the television series.

IDW already has successful television development partnerships. At present, BBC America is airing Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, based on Douglas Adam’s novel and written and executive produced by Max Landis (see “Comic-Con TV Trailer Round-Up”). IDW has released several Dirk Gently comic books in conjunction with the series. Syfy has ordered a second 13-episode season of Wynonna Earp, based on the IDW comic book series by Beau Smith (see “Geek TV Comic-Con Round-Up”).
