There are a lot of interesting new comic projects in the March announcements from the major publishers, but none more fascinating than comics auteur David (Stray Bullets) Lapham's return to the world of monthly comics with a new series, Young Liars, which DC's Vertigo imprint will publish starting on March 5th.  Lapham is both writing and drawing the full color, 'mature readers' Young Liars comic ($2.99), which mixes guns and guitars in a heady brew of sex, violence, and (very bad) rock 'n roll that follows its mismatched young protagonists from the dives of the lower East Side to the beaches of Ibiza and the castles of Spain.

The central figures in Young Liars are Danny Noonan, a habitual liar and bad guitar player from Texas, and Sadie Dawkins, a poor little rich girl whose behavior changes radically when a bullet is lodged in her brain.  Throw in a few psychotic midgets and a couple of demented billionaires and you have the recipe for another fast-paced and totally original saga from one of the most promising talents working in comics today.
