Keith Mallow of Collector's Comics in Fort Pierce, Florida shares his experience with Free Comic Book Day 2008 (see “National Comics Holiday this Weekend”), and declares it “the best ever:”

Not only did we almost give away our entire stock of hundreds of FREE comics, but fans from miles away came to meet and greet comic legend, John Beatty!  Fans will remember his great art on Secret Wars with Mike Zeck, as well as his plethora of work from Captain America, Punisher, Batman and many many more!  John didn't disappoint!  Newlywed John sat for seven straight hours drawing FREE sketches!  That's right!!  John came to our store three days after he married his lovely wife Bella, in keeping with his policy to never disappoint fans!!!  His fans stood in line, patiently, for their free sketch and John didn't leave until everyone had their sketch!!

We also had everything in the store on sale from 10-50% off!

One of the great surprises was the effect of the FCBD television spot.  We got many new customers and they all said they would be back!!

Many people showed up in costume!

We also gave away the FCBD HeroClix Iron Man figure as well as the Star Wars figure!

We are looking forward to a bigger and more successful FCBD next year, as it has proven to be the most talked about day of the year!!
