Horror artist extraordinaire Alex Nino returns to comics with Dead Ahead, a three issue mini-series from Image Comics that launches on September 22nd, 2008.  Nino, who is justly famous for his deft touch in illustrating the mature audience horror stories included in the Warren magazines Creepy, Eerie, and Vampirella, is the perfect choice to provide the art for Mel Smith’s high concept zombie saga, Dead Ahead, which is set in a world where a mysterious zombie plague has ravaged all the world’s land masses and a party on a small fishing boat must investigate a drifting ocean liner or face starvation.

Nino’s super-stylized art, his strong sense of design, and unsurpassed ability to create a forbidding atmospheric setting where it’s very easy to imagine that horrific things can and do happen make this master of comic book horror particularly well-suited for this project.
