Three DVD products of the animated feature Star Wars: The Clone Wars will street on November 11th. The three SKUs include a single-disc DVD, a two-disc Special Edition DVD, and a Hi-Def Blu-ray edition, the first time any Star Wars release has been in high definition.
Retailer exclusives include a Best Buy edition (two-Disc) in a “steel book” tin, and a Target edition (two-Disc and Blu-ray) featuring the red-emblazoned Senate guard clone troopers.
A feature-length conversation audio track is exclusive to the Blu-ray release.
The DVD is the last in a nearly year-long sequence of Clone Wars events to launch the new property and TV series (see “The Clone Wars Rolls In”). Promotional activity is heavy right now, around the premiere of the TV series and leading up to the DVD release (see “Clone Wars Promos Gearing Up”). Together, the level of activity around this property is providing a major opportunity for Q4 sales.
