Universal is releasing Coraline, the stop-motion movie by Henry Selick based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, on DVD on July 21st.  Coraline will be available in three different versions, a single-disc edition ($29.98), a two-disc Collector’s Edition ($34.98) and a Blu-ray version ($39.98).  Like Watchmen, Coraline will be out in time for the San Diego Comic-Con.

Coraline, which earned over $75 million at the box office, is the kind of film that could have an impressive run on DVD.  Director Henry Selick also helmed the stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas, which has become a cult movie par excellence, and Coraline has similar potential.  In addition to Gaiman's novel, which features illustrations by Dave McKean, P. Craig Russell has created a graphic novel adaptation of Coraline that is also published by Harper Collins.
