The public relations blitz behind the release of Bloom County: The Complete Library Volume 1 (1980-1982), which streets this week, kicked off in earnest over the last couple of days, with an appearance by creator Berkeley Breathed at the Long Beach Comic-Con and coverage by the LA Times on Sunday. Today it kicked into high gear with a week-long promotion by USA Today: Bloom County Week.
The promotion includes daily strips selected and with commentary by Breathed each day this week. Monday's USA Today includes a call-out on the front page of the paper, and a section on the strip on the front page of the Life section, as well as an interview online.
Breathed shared some thoughts on the collection with ICv2 in an interview last month (see "ICv2 Interviews Berkeley Breathed").
